Melody : Expression in Light Music

Course Description:
This course trains students to perform light music with better voice control, emotional expression, and style. It includes semi-classical compositions, ghazals, bhajans, and film songs that require intermediate riyaz.

Syllabus Highlights:

• Advanced voice modulation & breathing techniques
• Practice of ghazals, bhajans, patriotic & folk songs
• Understanding moods & emotions in singing
• Light classical touch in songs (Thumri, Dadra, Kajri basics)
• Introduction to improvisation & ornamentation (Meend, Murki, Khatka)
• Using karaoke / harmonium / keyboard for practice
• Performing in small stage programs & competitions
