The Talvadya – Sound of Tabla (Advanced) course is designed for experienced tabla players who want to master complex rhythms and compositions. You’ll explore intricate taals, develop advanced improvisation skills, and refine your technique to play with precision and speed. This course is your path to becoming an expert tabla artist, mastering both the technical and creative aspects of the instrument.

This course offers a structured and immersive introduction to the Tabla, the iconic Indian percussion instrument known for its rich tonal quality and rhythmic complexity. Designed for beginners to intermediate learners, the course explores the fundamentals of tabla playing technique, starting with hand positioning, basic bols (syllables), and simple thekas (rhythmic cycles) such as Teen Taal, Keharwa, and Dadra. Students will develop a strong sense of laya (tempo) and tala (rhythmic structure) through practical exercises, recitation, and solo compositions. 

Emphasis is placed on clarity of sound, improvisation skills, and coordination between the dayan (right drum) and bayan (left drum). Learners will also gain exposure to the rich heritage of tabla gharanas (schools) and its role in accompanying both classical and contemporary music.
