a beginner-level Tabla course designed to introduce students to the fundamental techniques and rhythmic structure of Indian percussion. Grounded in the Hindustani classical tradition, this course teaches students how to position the hands, strike properly, and produce clear, resonant strokes (bols) on both the dayan (right drum) and bayan (left drum). Students will learn basic theka patterns in taals such as Teentaal, Keharwa, and Dadra, along with essential compositions like kaidas, paltas, and tukras.

The course also introduces rhythmic counting (matras), tali-khali structure, and how to keep tempo using a metronome or lehra app. Emphasis is placed on discipline, accuracy, and developing a strong rhythmic foundation, setting students on the path toward solo playing, accompaniment, and improvisation.
