Raga Vistaar – Exploring the Melodic Beauty

This level deepens your connection with Hindustani music through systematic Raga development. Students will learn the Aaroh, Avaroh, Pakad, and Chalan of medium-complex ragas such as Bhairav, Bageshree, Kafi, and Desh. Training covers Alaap (slow melodic improvisation), Bol-Alap, Taan patterns (straight, gamak, sapat), and layakari (rhythmic variations).

You will also practice short Khayal compositions in both Vilambit (slow) and Drut (fast) laya, with tabla/lehera accompaniment. The focus is on voice expansion and expressive singing while maintaining purity of raga.
