Course Content

An introductory course designed for absolute beginners to explore the fundamentals of Hindustani Classical Music. Students will learn the basics of Swaras (notes), Alankars (patterns), and simple Ragas like Yaman and Bhoop. The course also covers voice culture exercises, basic taal understanding, and bhajans/light compositions.

This course is the perfect gateway for those stepping into the world of Hindustani Classical Music. Students will learn the Saptak (three octaves – Mandra, Madhya, and Taar), Swaras (Shuddha, Komal, and Tivra), and basic Alankars to build a strong musical foundation. The course introduces the concept of Raga through light and easy ragas (Yaman, Bhoop, Durga), and teaches simple Bandishes (compositions) in slow and medium tempo. It also includes basic taal patterns (Teentaal, Dadra) with clapping and recitation practice.

Special emphasis is placed on voice culture, ear training (shruti shuddhi), and developing sur-taal coordination.
