Course Content

The intermediate course is designed for students who have acquired the basics of Hindustani Classical Music and are ready to deepen their knowledge of ragas, taals, and improvisation techniques. This level focuses on expanding the repertoire of ragas (such as Bihag, Kafi, Desh, and Bageshree) and introduces detailed bandishes in both Vilambit (slow) and Drut (fast) laya.

Students will learn improvisational elements such as Alaap, Taan, Bol-Alap, and Sargam patterns, while also practicing advanced alankars for voice control. Training will emphasize layakari (play with rhythm), taal variations, and performance etiquette.

This stage also introduces students to semi-classical forms like thumri and dadra, helping them explore expression and emotion in singing.
