Course Content
The advanced-level course is tailored for students who have mastered the fundamentals and intermediate aspects of Hindustani Classical Music and are ready to refine their artistry. This stage emphasizes depth, creativity, and performance-level training. Students will study a wide repertoire of complex ragas such as Todi, Marwa, Multani, Darbari Kanada, and Malkauns, with detailed exploration of their chalan (movement), pakad (signature phrases), and rasa (emotion).
The course focuses heavily on improvisation techniques—including bol-taans, sargam-taans, meend (glides), gamak (oscillations), murki (ornamentation), and advanced layakari—to enable students to present a complete khayal performance. Learners will also receive training in semi-classical and light classical forms such as thumri, tappa, hori, kajri, and bhajans, enhancing both technical mastery and emotional expression.
Additionally, emphasis will be placed on stage presence, concert preparation, and voice endurance techniques, preparing students for professional performances.
