Strum Basics: Introduction to Guitar

Course Description:
This course is designed for absolute beginners. It introduces the parts of the guitar, tuning, posture, and basic chords. Students will learn simple melodies, strumming patterns, and popular songs to build confidence.

Syllabus Highlights:

• Guitar anatomy & tuning methods
• Basics of holding the guitar & finger exercises
• Introduction to open chords (C, G, D, A, E, Am, Em, Dm)
• Basic strumming patterns (down, up-down)
• Playing simple melodies on single strings
• Introduction to scales: C major, G major
• Playing 3–5 simple songs (folk/film/pop)
